Abelard is a small show kennel located an hour (or two, during rush hour!) north of Seattle. We are dedicated to breeding sound, healthy dogs that are beautiful and intelligent companions. We obtained our first Golden Retriever with hopes of showing over 20 years ago and slowly became more and more involved in showing, training and breeding. What started as simple admiration for a beautiful, happy dog evolved into a passion for this remarkable breed. Even after all these years, we continually search for more and better information on the best ways to raise, breed and care for our dogs.

We are members of the Golden Retriever Club of America and the Evergreen Golden Retriever Club. Getting involved with one of the clubs is an excellent way to meet other people who love being with their dogs as much as you do.
